Setting Up Your Powerschool Single Sign-On Account

(Parents Please note:  Once you have successfully created and logged into your account to view assignment details, CLICK on the letter/numeric grade for each class!!!!  Other features include synching to the class page calendar and links to teacher email)

(Students: You will be given your login/password information at school.  Once you login, you can see a detailed progress report by clicking on the Letter/Numeric grade for each class.  If you need help getting logged in or using Student Portal, ask your teacher or Diana Flick)

In Powerschool, you are now able to have one account to access information for all of your children in Harrisonburg Schools. To set up your new account, you will need the access ID and access password for each of your children. Please call HHS to receive your access id and password information if you do not have it.

Once you have your access id and password, for NEW accounts, go to  https://powerschool.harrisonburg.k12.va.us and click the Create Account button. Enter your First Name, Last Name, Email Address, Desired Username, and Password (which must be at least 6 characters in length). On the bottom half, you will need to enter the information for at least one child including his or her name, the access ID and password that you received with your letter, and your relationship to the student. If you have multiple students, you can enter their information on this screen as well or you can enter it later after your account is created. After you have completed this, click Enter at the bottom of the screen. At this point, you can use the Username and Password you just created to access your child or children’s information via the log in screen from the initial step.


After logging into your account, if you need to add students, click on the Account Preferences link on the left side of the screen, then click the Students tab. Your current students will be listed under MyStudents: click the Add button to the right of the My Students heading to add an additional child. You will enter the student’s information just as you did for the first child. If you have multiple children on your account, you can switch between them by clicking their first names on the top left corner under the Powerschool logo.
